Story Analysis:

When you read your manuscript for a final reading, do it as someone who has purchased your book.

Try to fill in these six points:

  •      Exposition - What information does the writer give you at the beginning of the story.
  •      Rising Action - What event in the rising action drew you in the most as a reader?
  •      Conflict - What types of conflict are present in the story? How did you identify them?
  •      Climax - This is often considered the most exciting or suspenseful part of the story.
  •      Falling Action - In what way is the action in this part of the story different from the first part?
  •      Resolution - How does this part of the story make you feel? What else should the writer have done?
